Early 1900's Metropolitan Police Whistle.

A delightful piece of British history- the iconic Metropolitan Police whistle. Produced by J Hudson & Co., England, in the early 1900's.

This antique whistle would have been issued to and used by the Police in London, England in the early 1900's. You can imagine an old fashioned Police "Bobby" walking his rounds on the cobbled streets of London with his whistle tucked in his breast pocket, ready to toot-toot should he come across a dastardly criminal and have to give chase!

This would make a wonderful gift for a Steampunk enthusiast, or as a quirky antique display item or could even be turned into a highly unique upcycled piece of jewellery!

The whistle is in good condition considering it's age. The chrome plating has tarnished a little in places and there is a slight dint to the mouth piece but this is normal for a police whistle of this age.

Measurements:
8.25 cm long
1.6 cm diameter

Vintage Students Microscope No. 2 With Original Box. 1950's England.

This vintage microscope would have been used by science students in England in the 1950's (and maybe through the 60's too). It comes with it's original box which has lots of wonderful vintage lettering.

Made in England in the 1950's by Signalling Equipment Ltd, this Students Microscope No.2 has a magnification of 70x. It appears to be working but we don't know much about the technical side of things when it comes to microscopes.

The barrel has a nice smooth movement in and out. The cast iron stand seems in solid condition. The black paint has flaked off in a few places and the label on the front of the stand has mostly worn off from use. The microscope comes with a glass plate but the original forceps are missing.

The original box is in solid condition and has lots of signs of use which adds to it's vintage charm. Covered in wonderful 1950's lettering we think the box is just as much a vintage gem as the microscope itself!

Measurements:
microscope when fully closed: 15.5 cm tall
box: 18.5 cm x 11.25 cm x 7 cm
